I’ve been painting and drawing pretty much as long as I can remember. I count myself as very fortunate to live in this little corner of Essex on the Thames Estuary in an area which is so visually diverse. I hope to express something of its life in my paintings.

I’ve got the estuary at the end of my road and over the last few years my paintings have been based on my experience of the world around me. I paint a wide range of subjects based on my experience of observing the world around me and I teach art to adults. I aim to create artworks that are a lively response to life and my surroundings. I paint from direct observation as much as possible.
