Biography
Maria Mann painter
Location: Exeter, United Kingdom
Style: Abstract, Fine Art, Experimental
I have always loved art and being creative. I never thought of following through and making artistic creations for the wide world as I chose to pursue another path in my career. It wasn't until I had my son that I found my way back to art and painting again. Seeing the wonder in his eyes as he observed the world and people around him. I wanted to throw myself into making paintings that would spark that same new-born wonder and joy into other peoples eyes. My medium is predominantly acrylic paints on canvas, but I also work with graphite and charcoal on paper. Though I've created art through sketching and painting for most of my adult life, I am mostly self-taught. I recently had an exhibition of one of my works Making Waves at the Espacio art gallery in London.
When it comes to my work, I strive to make aesthetically intriguing and beautiful paintings that evoke an emotion or sensation to the observer. My favourite subjects are landscapes, flora and fauna. I currently enjoy creating abstract paintings, though I also like delving into realism and creating realist drawings and paintings.
